Default B18A Block Build

Hi everyone, my first post here.

Anyway, I have a guy selling a B18A Short block rebuilt with all OEM Honda Parts. I plan for 300-400 HP currently. Thats my goal. With that said what prep do you think the block needs.

I've seen stock blocks handle alot so I will leave the block to stock specs (compression, bore and stroke) I will be installing forged pistons and connecting rods. Any recommendation on brand? Ill have it all balanced and blue printed. Do you think Darton sleeves would be overkill? If not what about a Block Guard?

He wants 400 as the block sits. Think its a good deal? Its local, no shipping.

Default Re: B18A Block Build (Mark817teg)

i'd say its worth 400, if its in good condition. i have a 92 teg which has the b18a and about to hit 220k. motor still runs strong with no problems. but then again, im not pushin 400hp (yet, maybe by summer) If you could, get the block inspected by an engine builder if you are really worried. prolly not exactly the response u were lookin for but its my .02 and im stickin to it
