What Turbo for 400+whp dseries???
bought me a built d16z6 with a head that can rev to 9k. And i would like atleast 400whp or what ever gets me to mid 11's, maaaybe 10's. I have a t3/t4b on my ls now and its like a .48 trim so im pretty sure it will crap out before i reach my goals. Dont care if it doesnt spool till 5.5 grand. its gonna be for drag and will have a small shot (25) into the ic just for good measure when i need it
Im leaning towards a larger t3/to4e or something
Thanks
Burke
edit - i would like to keep 5bolt exhaust flange cause i already have a 3in downpipe with a 5bolt on it

I will be using a Garrent .60 trim / .63 aA/R I already made 343 on it so i shouldnt have any problems making 400whp with it.
I would go with the .60 tirm, it will spool at about 5-5.5k

i was thinking about the sc61 because of all the sc61-this, sc61-that hype. but i though it may be a little large for what i am looking. and i know it would take a good while to spool. i dont really care if i have to push another turbo 4 more psi higher than an sc61 to get the same hp. anybody have any maps for these???
Thanks

yah i'd pass on the sc61. u'd need to revv high to make use of it. i'd go with the 60 trim like what brian uses and i will be using on mine. i find it funny... just the other day. i was thinking i'm crazy for wanting a 400whp sohc. but i saw posts by brian and his setup and i'm like ill go for it. now every other post is about a high hp sohc... kinda cool. hehe

It is all about being the under dog, and having that sleeper SOHC stance.

I have a question since all you guys love a bigger turbo. I've chatted with Brian about this as well and I know his oppinion.
For a given set up being as efficient as possible ie. Good flowing exhaust manifold, IM, DP and Hondata for management, if you switch from a 50 trim to a 60 trim, will you see a bigger hp/tq number at the same boost level?? Now this is in question for around 15-20 psi levels.
I know this is a hard question to answer, but it's a very big issure for me as well.

Amen brother.
We need a SOHC meet. I am thinking of coming to the east coast this year for an event. Although my newborn daughter makes it hard (well worth it though
