Default Measuring Turbo Housings

Well someone is saying my turbo isn't a T3/T4 and is in fact just a stright T4. I was wondering if there is anyway to tell the difference between the two. He says that the two housings are the same size and that is why it's a T4. Here's a pic if it helps any-

The person doubting you is correct. T3/T4's combine the turbine from a t3(usually between .48 and .89 AR, and feature a T3 flange) and compressor from a t3, like the one you have there.(usually about .50 - .70AR) Your's also has a t4 flange so there really isn't anything t3ish about it. sorry man. Your turbine should be stamped some where on the inlet ports or on the flange or flange neck. look for a number like 1.19 or so.

sorry guy... yah, you got a big T4 turbine and a 60 trim T3 Nissan compressor. (should have a 13 on it)

Turbine looks like it's off of a diesel... and the compressor is from a single turbo 300Z. Although... it could be completly off of the 6 cyl turbo diesel nissan engine. (they used them in IH scouts) But I forget what they used for a turbo.

your honda won't spin it. Acutly... you could get a ford T3 tubine housing and impeller and swap it in.

good luck

^^yup. that's really strange... a T4 turbine on a T3 compressor.... what would be the benefits of a setup like this? slow spooling for low boost???

yeah wtf I was going to say the same thing.... It definatley looks like someone stuck a t3 compressor on a t4 exhaust side...

The easiest way to tell it's a t4 exhaust is the double inlet, btw, to the original poster, aside from its size.
