heater is leaking
My heater is leaking. It sprayed fluid all over the road last summer so I just cut it our of the loop. Now its cold. I got all new hoses to see if that fixes it. Hooked it all up topped off the fluid and there was a slight steam coming up out of the engine bay, then after about 10 mins of idling the temp gauges goes north and overheats. Funny thing is nothing is gushing and there are no puddles in my interior, I cant see any leaks or anything other than a fine steam. Any ideas? I have a new heater core if I need to swap it but I dont want to tear out my dash...
for the overheating problem: did u bleed the cooling system after u installed the new hoses and stuff for the heater?
where is that "fine stream" coming from?
if your heater core is not leaking then dont change it. if it is then change it.

No I didn't bleed the system after I redid the hoses. The steam is coming from behind the intake manifold. I am guessing that something is leaking down onto where the header meets the b-pipe or there is a pinhole leak that is aspirating the coolant. How do oyu bleed the coolant, from the radiator? I know there is a drain plug. Thanks...
