hx v-tec e engagement?
i have read all the info on vtec e and how it locks the two valvels together. my question is how is it activated? from what i have read there is no vtec out put on the hx ecu...or is my source wrong? i would like to turbo my hx, but i would like to engage the vtec e at about 2000 rpms or even a little lower so i can make sure that i have a good fuel mixture while in boost. i don't want to run lean and end up detonating, because i only have one valve totally open and i am running way to lean.
I am a newb to Honda but not to cars and boost. I have an HX too and where vtec e hits "shouldnt" have ANYTHING to do with running lean. Like I said I am not super knowledgable on VTEC, but wouldnt he injectors and your fuel management and tuning determine if you have enough fuel??? I mean from my readings on this board, most people say Honda set VTEC at whatever limit it is at for a reason and it is left unadjusted.
yeah but any turbo that spools under 2k is pretty worthless anyways. dont worry about leaning out your motor while boosting. but to answer the origional question there is a vtec pin on the hx ecu. a decent turbo on a d-series will likely spool arround 3k and that right about where vtec hits
