my friends 00 type r speedo gauge is gone to ****, would a 94-01 gsr, ls, rs speedo gauge work in its place?
thanks for the help.
thanks for the help.
If the car is still under warranty the dealer will fix it for free if you haven't fucked with anything. Mine went ape **** after I tried to teach someone how to drive stick. The speedo read 140 mph at idle and was bouncing all over the place.

yea the car is passed its factory warranty period and he never got the extended warranty when he bought it. even though i told him that would be a good idea. since he could easily afford it. also ive taken many eg, ek clusters apart > epsom you just take the screws from the back off and just pop it in correct? once the front bezel thingy is romved .i havent taken anything off the cluster yet. i think its the same as the ek and eg right?
Yeah it will definitely work........you just have to make sure you reconnect everything correctly. IF your interested i have two jdm itr guage clusters with yellow needles and reads kilometers to 180. Thats only 110 mph but how often are you doing 110. But yes the othere clusters will work.

ok great now my other question is , im doing a jdm type r gauge swap into my eg (<< iknow iknow we can flame about that later) i got the gauge for free from my cousin...anyway, i want to swap out the speedo and use a usdm speedo. and since the usdm speedos will work also.... now the question comes to the actual gauge face itself.. as you know the jdm type r gauge face lights up orange without the bulb being orange... (the color is built into the gauge face) is this how the usdm type r gauge face ( or> gsr, rs, ls )( or is it only the type r gauges) made aswell or do all the usdm faces use the orange bulb to make it show orange??? hope that wasnt too confusing. thanks for the help once again...

yes, the gauge face is painted. So, if your friend wants to keep the color you need to remove hte needle and swap the face (another 2 or 3 or 4 screws, I forget).
