Are CAM gears worth it?
Just a quick question regarding CAM gears. I have a jdm h22a in my eg and i was considering getting some STR cam gears from a buddy of mine. What kind of gains can i expect?

Just slapping on the gears, you won't gain anything whatsoever. It all depends on the tuning, that's their sole purpose. Not to mention they look bling with a mooncut valve cover.

Ok cool. So basically, there would be no point unless i had something to use in conjunction with the cam gears right? Like cams and crank pulley?
No, you need to tune it to see gains. What you are doing is adjusting the cam timing. You 'may' see gains and you may not actually. It depends on your setup. I would think if you had a few mods to the engine it would help some. I would think maybe in the possible range of 5 hp? Someone correct me or back me up!
in my opinion, its only worth your money and time to get camgears along w/ new cams. You'll be dissapointed if you slapped camgears on stock cams.
Good tuning costs lots of money.
