Help: Something different between my 2000 and 2001 ITR block
ok i was looking at pics of my old 2001 block and noticed the sensor on cyl 3. look below, i think the knocksensor?
now my 2000 itr block doesnt have that ? they weren't equipped with knocksensors? Also there is a port above the water tube thats open on my 00 block , but on my 01 block looks like a black hose on it ? was that for the PCV system? if so , does anyone know the size and pitch of the hole so i can plug it up . This freaking block is a nightmare.

if i dont have that oil cooler box anymore, can i just plug it up ?
does the knock sensor plug go thru the block? or just threads in and senses from vibration or something ? from what i remembered from looking at the 00 block it didnt go thru the block . I guess i dont really need it becuase the Hondata doesnt recognize the knock sensor correct?

hmmmm ,from looking at it the only open hole to the internals was this oil cooler hole?
Hondata will use a knock sensor if your ECU is capable of sensing one. P28 ECU is not capable but a P72 is.
i run the P28, any info on the size and thread to plug these holes? is it ok to plug the oil cooler hole?

It goes to the black box on the back of the block from what i remember , that is the oil cooler. i think that line and the line from the PCV went to that box? I dont remeber though, its been sooo long since i messed with this thing. I still have my orig box, but i took it out and am using the Endyne catch can set up.
No, the "black box" is for the PCV system. The oil cooler is just a heat exchanger with coolant lines that go in and come out of it.
ok ., now what does that look like? i dont remember anything else going into the back of the block .
Evan , this is a pic you sent me before i just noticed. this was when i was asking about the Alternator brakcet.
haha, yup, I was just about to post that. The oil cooler is just a thing around the base of the oil filter. It has a little water line that goes too and from it that allows coolant to flow through to take some of the heat out of the oil and deposit that heat into the main coolant system.
The 2 big fat rubber lines in that pic are the water lines that feed the oil cooler. I think the black box is just a baffle or a charcoal can for the PCV system.
Sounds like someone needs a shop manual... is Santa bringing one this year?

i have a manual , but its not very helping , it dont show this stuff.
its a junk one.
Anyway can i plug that hole? or route the line anywhere else? I looks like it runs right into the black box?

I'm not 100% sure. I guess it depends how you have your catch can hooked up. You said you didn't have the box hooked up on your old block when you were using a catch can?
no on the old block everything was hooked up as stock with the PCV system . Now with the new block the guy was running the Endyne catch can and this port was open .
