B16 turbo or LS turbo? what to choose.....
my turbo project is going to come in play soon and i'm in need of suggestions...i'm actually going through the project in stages...first off get a motor....i have a chance of gettin a b16 or ls....the b16 would probably from an xsi obd-1, cable tranny (ys1), etc....but the ls would be the motor and the hydro tranny, i was thinking of trying out that kit that let's our rides use hydro tranny's if i go with that option...by the way, this turbo set up is going with all stock internals until it blows...due to my other turbo set up with be a fully built GSR or LS/Vtec...matters which one i pick, but that'll be in the later stages...so yeah, any suggestions are welcome, this is all going towards drag racing by the way, not autoX...anyway, which set up would be better? i was thinking if i get the ls, i would be to an advantage, already have a long geared tranny set up for turbo as opposed to the b16 coming with the very short geared tranny...and if i plan to go LS/vtec, i already have the block...but anyway, i'll stop ranting, what do you guy thinks?!

If you already got the LS block might aswell use it. If you really don't care about blowing it then throw a vtec head and boost it. You should get it sleeved though and do a couple of other things and have a reliable motor for high boost and daily driving
