What are the benefits of swapping out ITR intake cams for CTR intake cams?

 

Its not worth pulling a ITR cam to replace with a CTR cam. With a cam gear tuned on a ITR cam you can easily get the same increase.

well swapping for the CTR Pistons would increase your CR significantly..

 

Aren't the cams of the 00-01 ITRs basically the same spec as the CTR cams?

 

Someone replied that swapping out the ITR cams for CTR cams will yield almost identical results as using cam gears to tune the ITR cams.

I think the question is what are these results? I would like to know as well since I'm thinking about getting some cam gears for my otherwise stock car.

 

people say that, but no one has mic'd them, so no one knows for sure.

 

The CTR cams differ from the ITR cams by 3 degrees on the VTEC lobe on the CTR intake cam. That's it. The overall gains will likely be less than the WHP difference between summer and winter ambient temps. Hardly worth the effort, IMHO.

 

I have miced the cams at a local machine shop and they all have the same lift.
Duration on the CTR cam is approx. 3 degrees more than a 98.
Duration on the 00/01 ITR cam is approx. 1-2 degrees more than a 98.
