Um, I'm trying to remember...the EG's ranged from about 2200-2450lbs (CX on the lower end, Si on the higher end) and the EK's are about 2300-2400lbs (CX and DX). However, you can strip the EG's to below 2000lbs..somewhere around 19XXlbs...and the EK's just a bit above that...usually about 100-150lbs more.

BTW, are you associated with FF Squad?...just wondering cuz of your name.

My EG h/b weighed in at 2200lbs even with a half-tank of gas, full interior, and stereo system. I've seen a CX weigh in at just over 2100lbs... each car is different.

Thx. No affiliation with FF Squad aka Tiiite Boy Racing. I didnt know there was that much weight difference between the EG, EK vs 99-00 Si and 98-up ITR.

Yup, that's why everyone always wants a lil hatchie. The numbers I quoted are just specs from sheets that I could remember. Like someone else mentioned, they weigh in differently. and they can easily be stripped to make them very light! I'm kinda looking for a 96-00 hatch myself...thinking about starting a project car...dunno if I have the funds tho...damnit!

my '94 dx hatch("eh" is in my vin#), has both door panels, instrument panel, Momo race steering wheel, no airbags, two Sparco race seats and harnesses, and scraped out sound deadening (rest of it is gone)on the inside. For the rest- motor is an ls/vtec(for sale), heavy Racing Hart "st6" 17" wheels and tires, FAL rear quarter windows, and a carbon fiber hood. The last time it was on the scales it weighed 2180 w/ me in it and about 3/8 tank of gas.

Yea I am also. I could sell the Si and buy a 96-98 hatch...pay it off...add a niiice engine swap and POOF..!!! Nice Sleeper with enough money left over for some cosmetic mods.

My '98 DX hatch (EK) weighed 2239 lbs according to the scales at an SCCA event. Full stock interior, sway bars f/r, 1/3 tank of gas, etc... The only thing I had removed was the spare tire. (SP rules) It would have been 20-30 lbs lighter without the sway bars.

I was honestly surprised it was that light.

eg cx weighs 2094. eg si weighs 23**. who cares about the dx because you either want the light weight of a cx, or want the sunroof and stuff of an si.

do you actually know what the physical differences are between the dx and cx that make up the weight difference? It all depends on what options(air, rr wiper, etc.) the cars have. If you remove the rr wiper and sound deadening from the dx that doesn't have air, i'll be willing to bet they're the same weight. Power steering, air, rr defrost, and the rr wiper I believe were options that are removeable(the rr defroster might be tough though). So remind me why the cx is so much better...other than those sticky vinyl seats...

Yeah, I thought about selling my coupe and getting a hatch also, but I'd rather keep the coupe and have the hatch as a 2nd car for mostly racing and some street use. That'd be a nice setup...either that, or a 92 240sx with a blacktop SR20DET...hmmm.....so many options, so lil friggin money!

My 96 EK with a B18c1 weighed in at 2325 at the track. I now have a CF hood and wing and no bumber supports, should be under 2300 now.
