Car won't start after it rained? Please help
The following morning after it had rained the day before I got into my car and it wouldn't start. The radio was working fine and I was able to roll down the window. I checked under the hood but saw nothing wrong. After a few minutes I was able to get it started. This happened a few months ago and people told me it was my starter. I have the aem intake with bypass value. Does anyone think the water being slashed into the engine bay was the cause of my problem
nope. I had the Jet v-force connected a couple of month ago when it first happened. I disconnected it ever since. Someone told me the water hitting the alternator was the problem? Has anyone with the aem ever encountered this?
Im sure its not the AEM and water being splashed is fine....
Might have been and most likely was the Jet v-force if the prob went away after you removed it...

Also, when it doesn't start, does the starter crank the engine over or do you get nothing?
Do you have an alarm? with starter kill?
Sorry for the confusion. About TWO MONTHS ago my car died when I was stuck in traffic. I had the Jet v force connected at that time and it was also raining. I turned the ignition and it wouldn't start. It cranked ever so slightly. I open the hood and the first thing I did was disconnect the jet v force then disconnect and reconnect the battery. I got back in my car then I was able to get it started. This past Sat. the day after it rained hard I got into my car and turned the ignition. It didn't start. I thought I forgot to turn off my headlights but that wasn't the case. Keep in mind that the jet v force is and has been disconnected for several months now. I opened the hood didn't really touch anything cause wasn't sure what I was looking for and then I slammed the hood in frustration. I sat in my car then I turned the ignition and it started. Its Tuesday now and I haven't had any problems. (knock on wood) so what going on?

When I turn the ignition I get nothing, so I guess the starter doesn't crank the engine.
Yes the lights go dim when I attempt to start. This happen all the time, even when the car was running fine.
Yes I have an alarm. No it doesn't trigger when I attempt to start it. Factory alarm.
My car is running now. I didn't even do anything except slam the hood.

You know whats weird? Same ***** been happening to me. If i leave my car off for a long time, like over night, i have a hard time starting my car. All I hear is a click when i turn the key. After the 3rd try, it ususally starts up. But if i drive my car for a while, and turn it off, and turn it back on in a short ammout of time, it starts up fine. What the heck is going on?????????

Check these items.
1- Check the grounds, make sure there is no corrosion (happened to me) on or around the bolt or eyelet. There are 6 ground points. 1 at the terminal, 1 at the shock tower near the battery, 1 at the front of the engine (pass side), 1 at the transmission housing, 1 at the front drivers side of the engine, and 1 on the valve cover.
2- Check the starter connection. (small speaker type connector with rubber boot) make sure it has good contact with the starter.
3- Check the 12mm bolt that connects the starter wire. (big 6gauge wire direct from battery) make sure there's no corrosion.
If those check out ok, then...
4- Check the alarm wiring, more specifically, check the crimped wires where the starter kill is connected.
If this doesn't fix your problem, contact us again.
Sorry for the rudeness earlier.
Oh, I forgot to mention, how old is your starter? I could be the starter solenoid internal in the starter.
