10-12psi on a stock GSR?
I have a stock GSR in my 95Si hatch that i have been running boost on for awhile. First I had a JRSC kit running 10psi. I sold that and went turbo. I was running a greddy 18G kit on 6-7psi. I just sold this greddy 18G kit and my friend gave me a T3/T4 Hybrid ball bearing turbo to use. I just bougt a Kooks Manifold T3flanged with a wastegate flang for my Tial 35mm and a Max rev 2.5" DP. I have a V-AFC, 450cc DSM injectors & a resister box,Jackson Racing Boost/Retard computer, 2mm Head Gasket, ARP head studs,GSR hydrolic tranny with a limited slip. Apexi N1 exhaust, jun aluminum fly wheel, and short shifter and last but not least a Skunk 2 intake manifold and a greddy Profec B spec II Hi/Lo boost controler
You think 12psi for a few track runs and a couple dyno pulls 12psi will be ok? Then run 8-10psi on the street? I've asked alot of my car buddies what I should do, but I get different answers from everyone. I get the "omg no way 12psi on stock internals? you'll blow that ****" Then I'll get the "dude 12psi with a 2mm head gasket and ARP head studs will be fine." lot's of other various comments as well. I just wanted some Honda-Tech peoples opinions.

i would cut over to a better fuel management solution before you up the boost.
i guess some people run that much on the VAFC and 440's but i dont think its been proven reliable. and it sounds like those injectors will be maxxed out.

I agree, if your gonna run that with an AFC, look into a setup like inline pro runs on there cars.

Be careful, you put the motor at greater risk higher than 7 psi.

I did 11psi uncooled for a long itme on my GSR, and when I took the motor apart, the internals were super clean. That kind of boost will be okay as long as it's tuned right.

That's a question of tuning, not the motors' ability.

Exactly. if it's a really small t3/t4 then 12psi will be fine. What you need to look at is how much torque and HP you want to make. You may want to run a little more fuel pressure to make the hack deliver a more fuel, if need be.

I run 10lbs daily driven on my stock d16z6 w/ the hack, and a volvo t3 on a drag mani, externally gated. I also have a walbro 255hp. It's been running great for 10k miles. Maybe the walbro bumped up the FP and has been keeping her alive, but as far as I can tell, she pulls hard and consistent every day ( and like a monster when its cold like this out ) and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. I don't think you'll have a problem @ 12lbs if you pull enough timing.

Buy u a Apexi Power FC the real fuel management And boosted to 14pds with pump gas (93) it will be alright. I have seen it done with my freinds car and he made 385HP with a SC60. Another freind has a SI B16 and the same thing Apexi Power FC 14pds. with (93) with a ported head and is making 285 with a GReddy Kit daily driver. Carboy in Houston Does all the tuning.
You have a method to deliver more fuel, you have a method to pull timing, it's clumsy, but it is fuel managmnet.
12psi, is the upper limit of what people would conventionally tell you is safe. Spend twice as much timing tuning it, and it should work.
I think it's fine for the track, but how are you going to "save" your two different tunes for the two different boost levels? Write the settings of the two computers down on paper? Take your TIME, I think it's doable, it'll be harder working with what you already have, but I think the motor can take it.
