Default Thinner OEM Head Gasket

Hello Everyone,

I'm about to change my valvetrain and need a new head gasket. I have a stock JDM block w/ 10.6:1 Compression Ratio.

If I use a stock OEM Headgasket and take out the middle layer, does anyone know what my compression might be?

I'm hoping that to be true. Should be good for a few WHPs right?

Stock JDM blocks are 11.0:1.
Stock USDM are 10.6:1.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Correction...

JDM blocks have 10.6:1 compression while USDM blocks have 10:1 compression. The JDM Type-S motor has the 11:1 compression along with some European motors aswell.

Can't you shave more than that? Or is there another head gasket that you could buy to get a higher compression?

Well, bascially, they have aftermarket head gaskets that are thinner to rasie it up pretty good amount.

However, I don't want to spend that much. Some people use an OEM head gasket and take one layer out. It's a 3 layer head gasket. Some people supposedly take out two layers, but I don't know if I can trust that.
