I disagree, and this is when I had both a LS tranny and a GSR tranny for my old 92 hatchback. The setup.... JDM B20B motor with a Drag 3 turbo kit. Granted there was less traction in 1st & 2nd gears with the GSR tranny, but it made a big difference in 3rd - 5th gears in acceleration. People say "the LS tranny stays in boost longer" which is horseshit. Regardless of what tranny you use, you're in the same amount of boost a specific RPM. The closer geared tranny (like the GSR in this case) works better because it makes the turbo spool FASTER, and not at the same speed as with a LS tranny with less intervals. With the turbo spools faster, you go quicker. Turbo B20 w/12 psi in a 1800 lb hatchback on the freeway was "like whoa"

LS Trans Pro: Better freeway gear for gas mileage / lower rpm.
`` Con: Not as quick.
GSR Trans Pro: Geared quicker.
`` Con: Higher rpm / lower gas mileage.
It depends what you want, the ls tranny is not "faster" in any sense of the word, but if you commute with that car at 80mph everyday, it's something to think about.
Btw In regards to top speed, I don't have the numbers memorized and I'm too lazy to work it out but I'm sure the theoretical top speed of a gsr 5th gear at 8k is pretty damn fast

I agree, for boosted B series setups I think that the GSR tranny is ideal, especially for street driving. A lot of people who claim the "LS is better for FI" are usually people who don't even have the setup, let alone a boosted car.
