GSR TRANNY OR LS TRANNY
I hope you guys can help me out.I was wondering which tranny would be better for a boosted b18c.Some people say to go with the LS and some say to say with the GSr? This guy wants to trade me his ls for my gsr for an even trade? I know the LS has longer gears but i just dont know much about hondas. I have a greddy kit with some interals and this is my daily driver. Would it be best to stay with the GSr tranny or go with the Ls tranny i'm only boosting 12lbs?

The myth about longer gears being better for a boosted car is only a myth. With shorter gears you'll show better times in all forms of racing. Trading your GSR tranny for an LS tranny isn't wise.

Yep. With shorter gears, you'll achieve the speed much quicker, which equates to quicker acceleration.

Re: (Skunk2nR)
Keep your gsr tranny, the Ls is too long, 3-4th gear are long as hell. Besides it's not even worth the trade because going rate for an Ls tranny is $400 and a gsr tranny is around $750, not an even trade either way.
Tell that guy to have fun with his Ls tranny and enjoy your gsr tranny, sounds like the guy is trying to pull as fast one on you.

IMO, i like longer ratios for turbo, better highway speed...and yeah its tru the GSR has quicker acceleration, but i like the ls tranny with turbo or heavy mods b/c u could reach higher speeds say above 120?

A stock B16 tranny at 8100 rpms in fifth gear will be traveling somewhere close to 134 mph depending upon tire size. A stock GSR tranny will go even faster than that, and an LS tranny is again even higher. Call me crazy but I'm not one to be going quite that fast anywhere, much less on a public highway.
