fuel cut off at 4800 rpm ?? help me get my vtec back.
Hi guys.
I'm having a problem with my 1G b16 in my integra.
It wont rev to over 4800rpm. It gets up to the vtec point and then the fuel seems to cut off, like hitting the rev limiter.
I have a code 23 for the knock sensor, which I am unable to get rid of. If this is what's causing the problem, let me know, I"ll go buy a new knock sensor and see if that fixes it.
Also, when this happens, the MIL turns off for a few seconds before coming back on.
Muchos gracias in advance.

Yeah it could be the knock sensor.
But check your oil level and oil pressure...
If your low on oil vtec wont engage...good luck

thanks,
a bit of an update
Apparently it's not the knock sensor, I managed to fix the MIL
Vtec does work
this cutoff or bogging seems to occur under load, and can occur at any RPM. although it is much more likely over about 5k. It only happens with about 3/4 throttle applied.
It was suggested to me that the O2 sensors were criss-crossed.
I didn't find anything under the search about O2 sensors producing this problem, but I seem to remember reading about something similar to it before.
Has anyone experienced this?

check your oil level real good again.
also if you know someone with your same ecu see if they can lend it to you, see
how the car runs then.

Guys, thanks for your help. I was looking under the hood today and moving around wires thinking something might have had a loose connection. I have a battery located where the passenger seat was. Turns out that where I spliced into the main power line with, the electricity was bridging the electrical tape. It was actually sparking on the transmission. I wrapped it up very good w/ more tape, then put some rubber I had around on it, then put some more tape on it. This totally solved the problem.
