Default WTF am i doing wrong! Brake problems!

Ok guys,

I made another post about this, but I solved that problem. I put all the **** on (all looks good) but I am still having problems!

First, the history. Basically I took my old rotors and calipers off to put the stock stuff on. I had a lot of probs with that, but I finally got it all on. Unfortunatly I had gotten break fluid everywhere, so the pads were no good. I bought new pads, and a can of break cleaer and sprayed everythign down good, waitined for it to dry, and put the new pads in. "Great" Im thinking "its finally done!" WRONG. I take it for a drive and not only do I here a little scraping noise when I turn the wheel in either direction, and even when going straight after I have been driving it a bit. But also, when I parked it smoke came out fromt he wheel wells EVEN THOUGH I HAD GOTTEN IT ALL CLEAN AND PUT IN BRAND NEW PADS.

What the hell am I doing wrong here? ANy ideas? I have steel braided lines, but those are out of the way. There is also this little gaurd peice behind the hub, just a bit bigger than the caliper. Is that stock?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

I gotta dump the shield for sure, it scrapes a bit ont he turn. The other problem was in that I put in a washer that wasnt needed and the caliper was hitting the rotor from behind. Smoking is done now, too! Thnks for the reply

LOL! Are you people ******* serious? Can't take a joke at all, eh?

Alright junior, how bout this: if you suck at mechanics so bad that you can't put brakes on a car without ******* something up, maybe you should enroll in some sort of special-ed program and figure out your head from your ***, not that there will be much of a difference.

Learn to laugh at life or it'll laugh at you, folks.

Well, the spray you sprayed should only be sprayed if you got any sort of grease on there. Personally, I would not recommend what you did. Anyway, you did it already, just do some light stops to rid of the cleaner and youll be fine.

How's the stopping power, does it work well?
Im wondering about the brake fluid if possibly you left bubbles in the line, did you make sure on that?
Dont worry about Archidictus, he's two-faced. Almost sad.

Yes sounds to me like it def can be the splash shield(The thin metal half circles on the inside of the rotor). They can bend quite easily while working around the brakes. And it will squeak much like you're talking about. Just look all around it to see if its touching the rotor. Good luck
edit:woopsadaisy... way late huh?

I bled all of the brakes, etc. I dont know how OEM feels, but they break pretty good. Theres a bit of freeplay though before I can feel it really slow.

The problem ended up being a washer that was not supposed to be in place (was hard for me to know what needed to be there and not, as it was all aftermarket) so the caliper was touching the rotor ont he back side. The smoke went aeway after my 2nd run, so thats all good.

I bled the front lines, so it should be good to go now.

What do you mean by that exactly? I made a joke, people freaked out like little bitches and then I explained myself. Please, explain to me how I'm a hypocrite.

Atheist, sorry if I insulted you and yours with my joke: I meant no harm by it and I'm glad you solved your problem .
