RSX vs. Evo
umm wtf does this have to do with anything <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 1FSTCAR »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Side by side race ep3 vs evo8. Last week.</TD></TR></TABLE>
i am guessing that the motor in that ep3 that they have has mostly k20a2/k20a parts and it was a dead even run as far as straight line performance.....not sure which would be the cheaper route...i suppose that depends on who does the labor

I own both of these cars....there is no comparison. These are two completely different cars.
If you are serious about performance there is no question of which car to go with.

Are most of you guys serious? My god, i drive a RSX Type S and if i had the chance to pick up an EVO, i would do it in a heart beat.
You're bound to get biased answers since you did ask this question in a RSX forum. It's true though; the K20 motors have really high NA potential. But come on now, a turbo EVO is unlimited in potential, especially with all the aftermarket support coming from japan.
The RSX is nice, but it really is limited by it's FWD layout. But if you ask me, if i had the choice between a FWD, RWD, and a 4WD car, i would go RWD all the way. Good luck with your decision. All 3 layouts make a nice track car if set up properly.
PS: In case you can't "read between the lines," i'm telling you to get the EVO.

The only cars Ive ever owned were Hondas...but I felt I needed to make a step up from my hybrid and that step was to the Evo.
Personally in my opinion the interior in the Evo is WAY better than the one in the RSX...i prefer Recaros to the hard *** leather that makes your *** hurt. Sure there is some interior noise and your going to feel some jolt, but what do you expect with less sound deadening and a stiff suspension.
Ive read a lot of bitching in online forums about the Evo when it comes to their clutch, finish, etc... I don't know if I got a mutant out of the production line but ive had ZERO problems with my Evo. Every mile in that car has been enjoyable. Most often the time no one speaks up until they have a problem.

arent mitsubishi's known to have electrical problems??....(frm what i heard)
ne ways...yea i think its impossible to compare both cars, but if it were wrx sti over evo...id take the sti.
i ran an evo at irwindale 1/8 drag strip and i didnt do to bad at all. evo ran a 9.1 to my rsx-s 9.2 ; i was running the mods on my signature...the evo had a hks downpipe, bov, and turbo timer.

Yeah, its too bad cause both cars weren't even made for drag!
EVO=Loads of aftermarket potential. 4G63 has been around forever.
STi=New 2.5l engine specific for US market only=Little aftermarket (for now)
Something the STi can't upgrade to is EVO's quick steering ratio and gokart feel.

What do you mean by "good around car"? And what do you mean by a "box on wheels?"
All cars are basically metal boxes on wheels if you look at it.
If you're trying to say that the RSX is a better car all around than the EVO, i would have to disagree.
Anyways, please do inform us what you mean by that. And I don't see the EVO as having an ONLY GOAL as performance. It has useability and practicality as well. Look at that big assed trunk, and 4 doors for easy getting in and out. Only thing I don't like is the gas mileage.. which is bearable considering that it's a turbo car. But sure, i guess it's more focused towards performance than the RSX.
Also, I really don't think these 2 random cars are worth being compared.
The RSX is like a luxury coupe with performance and pep, and more frugal gas mileage.
The EVO is a 4DR Turbo AWD sporty performance car with focused more towards performance than the RSX.
Sure, both cars are wonderful, but I just don't justify classifying them both, or putting down one just because it isn't a Honda or just because it isn't AWD turbo.
Two completely different cars.
My $.02
peace

Dude, you are such a idiot.I can tell you dont know **** about cars.Since when has the Evo never been an all around car?Since when WRC rally cars arent all around performance cars?I suggest you get out of that tiny vtec island your stuck on and learn more about other vehicles before you open your mouth.Because of ppl like you is it that the Honda community has such a bad image.
