Default What is a perfectly honed cylinder supposed to look like?

I just honed my GS-R block with one of those deglazers you can get from auto zone. I used 400 grit and cleaned it w/ brake cleaner first and then kept it lubed with 10w-30. I did the normal 12-15 passes with it but i still see some discoloration in some spots. They are not out or round and you cant feel any of it AT ALL. I am pretty sure its all set, but i'd rather hear that from one of you gurus. thanks again.

A perfectly honed cylinder will have a good crosshatch pattern on it. The angle of the crosshatch depends on what you want to use the engine for. I would take it to a machine shop.
