cold mornig start problem?

Default cold mornig start problem?

hi i have1992 prelude with a jdm h22a lsd switch from auto to manual
i been having problems in the morning
every morning when i start the car i have to let it sit warm until the first bar on the temp guage goes up if i dont wait and drive off its starts to jerk and run very rough it wont stop idlin wierd until i let the car fully warm up what can this be let me know

if u have a VAFC then add more fuel to it. cold weather makes the car run lean . and hot weather makes it run rich. i have the same problem to. i jes add more fuel during idle and above.

if u dont have one. then try messing with the idle adjustment screw.

i thought the car suppose to run leaner in the morning so it can run warm faster and so it neeeds to idle higher

i just swapped a jdm h22 in my prelude and now that it is getting cold i have to let it warm up at least the first bar also or else it will jerk and it idles high when its cold to ? weird

First of all, you are not supposed to drive your car when the motor is 'cold'. Did you know that roughly 65% of all wear on a motor occurs when it is cranked right up and driven cold? The reason it is running funny is because it has not reached normal operating temperature. Usually I let my car warm up for about 7 minutes each time I drive it so the motor is not cold. If you do drive the motor 'cold', do not hit vtec right away or take it above 3k rpms.
