Default car dies on cold start ups

My brothers eg with a d16y8 swap tends to die on cold start ups.. the car would idle until it gets warm and then it will die and wont start up again.. it will crank but it wont turnover.. after waiting about 10 minutes the car would start up and run perfectly fine as long as u dont let the car cool down.. what can be the problem? there are no CELS and is running a virgin p28..

If when the engine won't restart, the fuel pump fails to prime, then your main relay is probably bad and needs resoldering.

If the pump primes when the engine won't restart, then next check for bright spark at each of the plugs.

This is after the car idled and died.. any suggestions to what the problem might be?

Code 15 may indicate a bad ICM in the distributor. Do you know how to check for spark at the plugs?

ICM is the ignition coil correct? if it is then i just replaced that the other day.. yes i know how to check for spark but i havent checked it when the car has died.. i just went out earlier and started the car to let it idle and it died of course and wouldnt want to start after that.. but i went back out 10 minutes later to start the car and fired right up...

The ICM is the ignition control module, which is referred to as the igniter unit in earlier models. It is not the same as the coil.

You may have a different distributor, but this should help:
