how can u not be sure? mechanical is where the vacuum line goes straight into a gauge, electrical is where u have a sender, and u have only electrical connections into the gauge.

does it sound like a "speaker" buzz or does it sound like soemthing is rubbing in it?

When does it make the noise... just whenever it feels like it or when you're boosting... driving or stopped etc.

makes a buzz while in boost (like speaker not rubbing), not in vacuum

Try disconnecting any power going to the gauge for the back-lighting etc. does it buzz EVERYtime you boost?
