Default Question about JDM 4-1 headers

I always rember hearing that aftermarket headers are always much lighter than the stock exhaust manifold. Are the JDM 4-1 headers heavy? or are they just as light as aftermarket headers?

still trying to decide between the OEM JDM and the DC JDM...

thanks

get the jdm 4-1 header for sure. they feel a bit lighter than stock but a the same time they are on the heavy side. but definetly worth it

I don't think that the ITR is worth $150 more than the DC considering that the DC's dimensions are slightly wider in diameter than the ITRs. If you opted for the DC SS JDM the price difference is still $70-80 and that equals a cat.

yeah, but you're forgeting one thing. When you have the JDM 4-1, you can still say stock header when people ask (after they lose)! I guess I'm just stuck on OE Honda parts. -C

ah, IF I get the upper heat shield, which is another $70 on top of the already $400 price...so now we have $470 vs $270....

once you get all the parts that are NEEDED, this header becomes pretty expensive...I can get the DC JDM for about $450 TOTAL, out the door, the JDM is $600 total, out the door, WITHOUT the heat shield...if I add that, I am looking at a $700 header... sorry, I can't bring myself to spend that much, people say DC doesn't make quality products, but I've seen JC's CC DC header, and he said he's had it for 3 years now, that helped me decide...now I gotta find $450

Make sure you go make a grunt sculpture before you race then.

Don't eat anything that might make you gain that 5# difference.

And hell, why not put heilium in the tires instead of air.

I went with JDM b/c I like the fact that it's made and tuned by Honda. I'm biased to believe (right or wrong) that Honda knows it's engines best. Plus, it's less $$ than the Mugen, Toda, and Spoon -- and probably a bit more streetable than those, too. In addition to the heat shield, the other expense is if you want to buy the lower header bracket, because the stock OEM one does not work with the JDM header -- that adds another $45 to the equation. Sure, it's expensive but worth it IMHO.

acutally, if you look at JC's header, it's dented to **** on the bottom (not that that has anything to do with quality. Chris, NdustryalGSR has a SS DC 4-2-1 that has rusted flanges on it. I just haven't heard too many good experiences from people about DC. It's your money. When I was deciding, I realised that I'd either get a Hytech header ($1200), the JDM, or no header at all. I say, just spend $900 on a Hondata and run 150 shot direct port! easy 12's. -C

i think i'll still need a header if I run 150 shot

plus i don't need a 150 shot to run 12's

damn, quit making me think about 12's, i just hit 13's and my car only has 11k mi on it...
