HELP, engine misfiring!
My check engine light came on and my codes are 72, 74., which means cyl 2 and cly 4 had a misfire. I heard the misfire when I started the car, and that's the only time it sounded funny. Now it runs normally. Should I just reset the ECU? I really don't want to take it to the dealer for fear of being screwed in the a$$. I was going to replace the wires and plugs anyway. Should that be good enough? Thank you to anyone who responds.
If you have that code it must be an obd2 car or ecu. Sometimes on these cars they have I think IPT injectors they can stick when first fired up and also I have heard that the crankshaft fluctuation sensor can sometimes pick on current from the alternator and make it through that code when the car is first fired up. My friends car did the same exact thing last week all we did was change the plugs, run some techron gas treatment stuff, and reset the ecu.
It's a '97. I found out that two of the plug wires were a little loose so I pushed it in all the way. Hopefully that was the problem. Does anyone know what the security code is for my radio?

Could be any one of these problems. In either cylinder or thereof.

If it is a 97 with less than 150,000 miles on it- take it to a dealership and they must fix it for free unless you have modded the **** out of it. This is part of the lawsuit settlement with CARB for improper misfire monitoring.
