okay here is the problem. I just got my D15 vtec swap done and back from the shop, whenever I drive it the battery light flashes on and off and then sometimes when I stop to fill up with gas or something I can't start the car back up for a while.
Then when It does start to turn over it cranks VERY slowely. Its the same battery and alternator from my zc so they are both used. I was going to take my alternator to the auto shop and have it checked later today.

Well the alternator and the battery where perfectly fine
I spent all that 10 mins taking off the stinking alternator!!! so what now maybe a bad ground wire? Well I'll check it tomorrow so I don't FREEZE my butt off.

on your alt check the bolt make sure they are tight on the bottom and top. That was my problem. good luck !
I think its a power wire?
its right beside your plug.

okay could my starting problem be that I have a bad ground going from the - battery terminal? When I went to jump it the ground sparked and then I put the - clamp where the wire is bolted onto the block and it started to turn over and then slowely started because my battery is pretty much dead.
I tightened my alternator so the belt is tight. It was really loose the other day. almost falling off.

okay same thing but I don't know if it's acutally the problem. I was driving down the road today and my battery started sputering and then my car just lost all it's power and died. Now the question. could that have happend because of a bad battery ground and made it not charge and go dead? Like I said before I had the alternator and the battery checked and everything seemed to work just fine.
Also I put the new cable on and it started right up(starting problem solved) but then after it started it started going crazy and the lights started flickering on and off then it just died. is that because of not having a ground also?

I had it checked and it was fine. I don't know about were they are from but the people at Auto Zone here in Wichita, Ks are some of the Dumbest 16 17 year olds out there and don't even know how to check the alternator(I went there to have it done once) but at advanced auto the guys own-drive-work on their own hondas, acuras, and mitsubishis(sp I hate that name) and know more.

$150 is the typical price.

Well I changed the the - cable and grounded it good and it starts right up and keeps running strong.
The End
And yes I did try that. I guess it would have helped if I could have changed the title to let everybody know that the alternator was fine.
