i'm trying to buy all parts for turbocharging my car piece by piece to save money and some stuff used and some it new. Have not bought any parts yet but want to get a the turbo some. Is t3/t4 hybrid the way to go? What else do you need to know about the turbo before you purchase it.

 

if you buy a used turbo, check it for shaft play by wiggling the blades with your finger. little bit of side to side- not bad, in and out- bad.

 

i don't want instant spool up but don't want much lag
