Cheaper way to buy a turbo, Peice by Peice, or Kit?
Is piecing together a turbo set up cheaper than just buying the kit? Am I really gonna save money?

If you're trying to go cheap... don't go turbo.
$$$$ + Turbo = reliabilty
no $$ + Turbo = Kaboom
MHO go custom either way....

if you piece it out using all brand new parts, it almost comes out the same..
But if you buy used parts, it will be cheaper of course. but just make sure you dont half *** any parts cuz every part is critical in making a turbo kit work.
good luck

if you are a first timer buy the kit. only go the used route if you really know what you are doing. i learned the hard way.

you don't have to spend like $3000-4000 to have a reliable fairly fast car. You just can't be irresponsible! You have to make sure you have the right fuel and the timing to run the boost that you're block can take. You're right, though; Piecing the kit together is better by far, I think. If you take your time you'll learn a ton and then you WON'T mess it up and you'll get the best that you can afford as opposed to Bandaids and crap in some of the kits.
