LS tranny gearing is way too long for all motor. I'd go with the GSR tranny and see if I can't get it fixed before putting it on the engine.

Well here is my next question.

What would be the predicted 1/4mile time for the car with the ls tranny with this set up:

95 civic dx on nittos & rota circuit 8's
jdm 2nd gen b16
gsr throttle body, bored out
edelbrock intake manifold, port and polished
clutchmasters stage 3 clutch
skunk 2 short throw
STR powerflow fuel rail

what about this setup with a gsr tranny?

that third gear grind might end up costing you over $1000. My 4th gear minor grind cost me $1162. For $900 +200 s/h you could get a low mileage ITR tranny with LSDiff.
just do your research before jumping in, you won't be sorry.

the GSR tranny would no doubt be better but that grind would suck. If you had the tranny out and could just take it somewhere it may not cost too much. Most of the cost of fixing the trannys are taking it out and putting it back in a car. So if you just brought them the tranny by itself you might be ok. Probably just needs some new synchros.
