questions about OBD I wiring
ok, i have a CRX Si. (MPFI) and i have a non OBD b16 in there already. I'm getting a type r head (no dizzy) for it (pretty good deal) and i was wondering how exactly i should take care of wiring. i know i'm going to need a OBD 0 - OBD I jumper harness, the OBD I dizzy, ecu.
My rear question is, does the CRX Si engine harness have connectors for all the sensors (other than vtec solenoid) or should i fork out the money to get a VTEC engine harness. i'm just lookin for whatevers the cheapest route, but i want it done right ya know? no cutting corners

What ecu are you going to run? You dontneed to wory about knock sensor if your useing a chipped p28
Stick to your crx harness and the obd1 jumper will come with instructions to wire it it (blown90hatch)

Another question. You already have a b16 in there now so everything should pretty much be wired up as far as vtec goes. Why do you wana go obd1 anyways?
i wanted to run a stock p28 for a while, but it looks like i'll go w/ a chipped one. is blown90hatch the one that sells the chipped ecu's on HT? and to answer the last question, the reason i wanna go w/ an OBD I motor, well...BAR sticker. i want this to be a legal swap so i dont have to worry about going through chp checkpoints or anything like that. plus...i can get my car smogged wherever i want once i have it. i was actually supposed to get my car smogged in july, but shiet...no one will do it.

No blown 90 hatch sells the obd0 to obd1 adaptor harness. Tons of people can chip p28's on here just search for it exc: search: wtb chipped p28 ,or chip p28. you get the idea

you will need to wire up a few ****. like the injector wires, knock sensor, vtec solenoid, 4wire o2 sensor you can use your injector resistor box or run it direct from the ecu its easy on the si since you don't have to convert to mpfi.
fyi: when smogging/ref the car you will need an P30 ECU which will be hard to find soo start to HUNT because you can only SMOG b16a as a Del Sol B16a3 In CA also correct manifold throttle body the refs will look at those unless the ref is cool with you
.
good luck!!!

hahah yes!!! P30 go HUNT IT DOWN!!! P28 was not for DOHC vtec engines was for Sohc engines. Need Correct ECU, Wiring, Manifold, Throttle Body and the EVAP system from A b16a3 Clean running engine if your engine is blowing smoke forget about it or do a rebuild you need a good running motor clean. I know some people who passed with OBD0 Visual but again you do it the correct way once then you don't have to worry about it 99.9% off the time it depends on the ref if he passes you visual on OBD0 and your car runs clean enough to pass the OBD1 sniffer test which most likely it won't it will get a sticker if it does pass!!!
don't have a sticker yet but close to getting one Maybe this next week I hate refs ****** CA!!!
its very hard to pass with a JDM motor B16a you need the dizzy etc. But once its done you don't have to be scard off cops when they pull your civic over and say that engine doesn't belong their Ohh yes it does MS. Cop I have a sticker from the state saying it does

and if its already legal because u got a OBDO engine in it... how do u think the referee will find out the head its a Type R???? he more likely will look at engine stamp saying B16A and if u only swaping head u really dont have to worry about it....

lol....sorry man, i kinda get confused w/ the ecu numbers. i thought the p30 was the sohc vtec, and the p28 was the b16 ecu. no need to worry then, cuz there's a ton of p30s that i can get.
