car bogs on trip
CRX b16a, forgot that it was doing this until i came home for break. AFter driving it for about 40 mins, it starts to bog at partial throttle. Then it progressively gets worse and bogs at anything under like 60/70% throttle. IT's been doing this for a while now on trips, noticed it over the summer. Most parts on it are pretty new, plugs, wires, cap/rotor. Any idea wtf is up with this?
Funny enough, i have been getting a code 21 flashing on and off lately. Sometimes i start up the car and immediatly its there, then the next time it is gone. Never have reset the ecu or anything, getting tired of messing with it. But thats just city driving, around town and what not. On longer trips there usually is no code.
Usually i dont have one for this problem to occur though.

NO, not yet. I was wondering if they could be the problem. Something about getting heated up on a long trip? IDK, might pick up a used DC though, and then try some new 02's.
Any other ideas?

Listen to the man, he's right.
What's happening is this: As your car drives, the long-term fuel adjustments get set. They only come into effect over roughly 20 mins of driving and tune the general trend of fuel adjustment based on the O2 sensor return voltage. If your O2 sensor is reading, shall we say high (O2s read high - ie rich - when they are blown, worn out, or cold) then the long-term fuel adjustment would be to try and reduce O2 sensor voltage by decreasing the amount of fuel injected to the engine. However since your O2's most likely blown, the voltage does not decrease, so the ECU continually keeps trimming a little more fuel at a time, until eventually the car runs so lean it begins to bog periodically. Resetting the ECU will solve the problem temporarily but it will return.
The reason it goes away under WOT is that the ECU doesn't apply the longterm fuel adjustments under WOT conditions. So alternatively you could just use an FPR and bump it up until the ECU cannot lean out the mixture any more (it has a maximum value for the longterm adjustment factor it applies) but this will make you run pig-rich under WOT. Best just to replace the sensor.

I will. Probably not going to do anything with the o2's unless i find a new shell. I might be picking up a scraped dc 4-2-1, and if its possible to install that with out MUCH hassle, i will have new o2's put in there, and give that a whirl.
Thanks
Thanks
I have the same problem but mine starts bogging after 5 mins. or so, But I don't have my o2's plugged in. I just turn the key off and back on and it fixes it for a few more mins.
try unplugging your 02s and drive like that for a few days and see if it still bogs if it quits while the o2 are unplugged then there is your problem. Then go to advanced auto and pick up 2 universal o2s for 20 bucks each and your set. Also on my b16 swap I had the o2 wires at the ecu switched around backwards. I replaced both o2s and it still did it so I switched them and now it runs great.
