There has been horror stories of CF hoods popping up whenever a person is driving. Carbon fiber hoods are very light, like everyone knows, and sometimes they flap when the car is moving. Over time, from all that flapping, the latch that secures the hood might break from all the stress and the hood will just fly up and might even break off the car! I have a carbon fiber hood without hood pins, and sometimes when I am on the highway, I worry about it. I am going to get some hood pins soon.

It might hurt the people behind me if it comes flying off. A carbon fiber hood is light and big enough to act like a frisbee and that big frisbee will do alot of damage.

You should definitely get hood pins... my hood flew up once and it cracked my windshield ... i mean the latch was partly broken so that didnt help and i let my friend use a bungie cord to tie it down and he did it loosely

different from car to car and maker to maker, the problem is the air lift in highway speed, and people usually dont bother to remove the seal from their stock hood, which only let more air get under the hood

the sucka actually flow and rattle 80miles+

go to sparco's website for more reference
