Bent Valves, or just need an adjustment?
Okay...94 LS, B18B. I was coming onto the highway, I was at about 6000 rpm in 3rd, I don't know WHAT or HOW the hell I did this, when I went to hit 4th, it went straight to 2nd. and revved to about 8000-8200. It was alright for about 10 minutes, then I started to hear the tapping. I know the valves at LEAST need an adjustment, but I guess I have to pull the valve cover off to see if any are bent. I called my mechanic guy that helps me on more than small issues, (like this one). He said I should be alright for a couple days until he can adjust them or find some new ones, I've gotta an hour trip on the highway for thanksgiving, he said it should be alright, but do you any of you have experience with this?

if the car still pulls fine then more then likely u just need a valve adjustment...i done this many times in my LS with around 60kmls too back in the days nowadays when i miss geez its bad i go all the way to 9k rpms....

Hondas have valve tick. Leakdown test will tell you.

get the valve adjustment done right away and do a leakdown test. valve adjustment will make the car run better anyways.

i dont think its bent valves, if it were bent valves than your idle would be screwed and you would be hearing a TON of noise. And, is it that you just noticed that tapping? or that it just started, like 707 said, b series often have loud valve and injector tick.
