i wanna run a 98 jdm type R ecu in my 94 cx. other than the conversion harness, what else do i need to do. do i need to run the second o2 sensor or don't i need it.
You need to add the secondary O2 (you will have a CIL if you don't), and you need to add the wires to the crank position sensor you see coming out of the timing belt cover by the oil pump. Without looking I think that's it.

The 1998 JDM ITR motor and ECU are not really OBDII motors. The ECU is basically just an OBDI ECU with OBDII plugs. And as such, it does NOT look for a secondary oxygen sensor, crankshaft speed fluctuation sensor (which is not a crank angle sensor!), or fuel tank pressure sensor. In addition, the 1998 JDM ITR ECU does not look for either an evaporative purge valve solenoid or VTEC pressure switch! As for wiring it up, the pinout does follow that of OBDII motors (with the exception of the deleted sensors). So you can wire it yourself using the Hasport guides. Or you can buy an adaptor to use an OBDII ECU in an OBDI car.

so, all i need is the conversion harness, and add a couple wires for the heated o2 sensor(cx uses single wire o2) and the vtec switch. also, i bought a 97 ls engine harness because i was told that it would plug right into the 98 jdm type r engine. but, when i try to put it on today, the injector plugs is different and the alternator plug is different, the distributor did fit so i know it's a obd2 harness. i can rewire the type r injector plugs but type r alternator plug has 4 wires and the ls plug only has 3 wires. what should i do?
