Default debating gutting CAT on obd2 car, worth it?

won't be bothered by the CEL.. will probably eventually get it tricked anyway..

what kind of performance gains am I looking at?

my top end felt better when i did that. and why cant u gut a cat till u get straight pipe ran. its free horsepower

i'd only do it if you want your car to sound like *** and polute. Unless your forced induction. There is a dyno somewhere around here where a car with a gutted cat produced +1 peak HP and -1 peak toruqe. So basically the same.

I'd rather just run a testpipe. A gutted cat will have turbulence.

can a test pipe for a obd2 teg have a 02 bung put in and not get a cel...?

You will/should get a CEL. Just get a simulator to fix the CEL.
