Default help please: first startup, motor runs rough and bogs out, distributor problem, PICS added

okay, tonite was my big night to try starting my new engine, i got the motor to start, but it runs rough, and nothing happens when i press the gas pedal (no increase in revs, motor just kind of bogs), i think maybe i have the spark plug wires wrong, could someone please let me know how to arrange them (a picture is worth a thousand words)

this is a 1998 civic dx motor, and i am using a 91 civic si distributor for my mpfi swap, it had a different motor that ran fine in there before with the mpfi, so i know its not an issue with that

if anyone can give me some ideas to try, and post some pics of distributor spark plug wire arrangement, thanks

okay, i tried that order 4 times, in every position, and it wouldn't run, below pics are the only combination where it starts and runs, but nothing happens when gas pedal is pressed

i know all the wiring is correct, because the previous motor ran fine with the mpfi, so i just need to get this timing/distributor issue solved, do i need to rotate the distributor to sit how it was on the old engine?

please check these pics:

you have your distributor installed incorrectly. rotate it one post counter-clockwise and change you firing order to match.

Your positive battery cable is not getting the proper charge from the thermostat housing.

Those little metal clips hold your distibutor plugs thats how you'll know when it's lined up right.
