Default Anyone have problems with DA's?

I'm thinking about buying a 1992-1993 Integra LS or RS and swapping a B18, however I don't know all that much about them. Has anyone had any problems with them or does anyone have any information/advice about them that I should know before I think any further?

I have one with a JDM B18C in it... and no real problems, other than it being heavy. 111,000 miles on the chasis.

I have a 91 LS for my beater. Its pretty good to work on. Plenty of parts for it in junkyards etc. I think its kind of ugly but it works!

Its ok, the only problem i have encountered has to do w/ my fuel system, but i have not even tuned the car yet. If you are not boosting the care right away you should not have a problem.

1990 DA. only problems was a cracked radiator, brake master cylinder, dented oil pan, rear camber issues on stock wheels, bearings seized because a pulley was over-torqued, automatic sensor in the cold and an axle replacement. all of those are due to age, nothing of a manufacture defect.

you may want to check out http://www.g2ic.com
it is a bit more informative on the DA/DB integra's.

The 90-93 came with B18s. Like B18A1 for 90-91 LS/RS/GS and B18A2 for 92-93 LS/RS/GS. A B18C1/5 can be swapped right in with very little effort. If you want race it the RS is usually the lighter of the group. Less options.

My only real annoying problem is the vent control buttons don't stay lit all the time. But with some of the info at http://www.G2IC.com, and here at HT you can fix almost any DA pain.

only problem i used to have to my DA (r.i.p.) was the IACV was always botched up and my car used to stall at lights and ****. but since you're swapping, i guess that's irrelevant.

No. All 1990-93 Integras came with a B18A1. 1990-91 vehicles were Non-OBD and had 130HP, while 1992-93 cars were OBDI and had 140HP.

I've yet to have a major problem with my car, other than a leaky oil pan gasket and an axle replacement. DAs look WAY better than USDM DCs (other than the R), but dedicated aftermarket support isn't as plentiful.

Brain Fart! Yea the OBD and 10hp was the biggest difference. I don't know why I was thinking A2. Doh!

I guess the only exception was the USDM 92-93 GS-R B17A1. Not including the JDM 90-93 that could come with B16s and rumor has it there are DAs in NZ that have some little D series motors too.

I agree. I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time buying a GS-R. I have since gotten rid of the b17 it came with, and pretty much gotten rid of every comfort option that makes it a GSR. Basically, it is a lot easier to start out with an RS, than to turn your GSR, into an RS.

i loved my DA. only problem was with master cylander(sp) but thats just because i let a friend drive it...long story.

btw, not sure about the other models but i know the 92-93 RS's had b16's, not b18's

i love my DA as well. my only problem is piston rings in 3rd cylinder are bad, i eat oil like its cookies, and im starting to get pudgy...

all the other problems ive had are minor, or were caused by me (lights shorting out cause of wire job)

i repeat, great car. definitly a good buy
