H22a tranny issues... (PLEASE contribute)
setup, m2b4 lsd tranny, Clutchmasters flywheel, ACT extreme clutch in civic (not sure if master cylinder could cause this (sizedifference from prelude one?)
well.. after putting some 6k miles on the tranny, i tried a couple times to get it in 3rd gear at some 8500rpms and sometimes would feel odd but would go ...
well after i did that about 4 times.. 5th gear seemed to grind a bit going in...
even when shifting.. i really had to slightly put a pressure and woudl eventually go in, anything else would grind a tiny bit.... when i lost reverse..... well it's like the reverse woudn't go in .. everything else ok...
so i called my friend that works at a local honda dealer ship and i removed teh tranny from my EK civic, and then slit it open.. we found that the slider on the 5th gear and reverse would only slide one way.. because it bured it... he said if they try to pry it in 3rd it actually moves two shift forks at a time and could cause this to happen.. (no more reverse) so we replace the part and now i have reverse..... but to test out my new gear... i tried it on the highway and while doing 125mph (reving slightly above 8500 in 4th i shifted (easily and slowly into 5th and still grinded going in)
now is this because your shifting beyond 7500 ??? is it a tranny problem ?
or what ?
seems to grind only after i give it a couple runs.. if i daily drive it wouldn't do it as bad.. checked all the synchros and gears and were all fine....
could it just be the prelude design on the tranny.. ????????
thanx guys....

Very true. If I shift out of first real fast right before fuel cut-off(8000 on stock tac) it will grind alittle into second.
But when I grandma shift out of 1st before rev limit, and let the r's come down, its fine

I never had any problems while shifting @ 8k.. However I am not taking it up as high as you so I cannot really compare, nor comment..
Did you have a professional check it out.??
