86 would be the max but the walls would be real thin. If you plan to abuse the motor get the sleeves inorder to save money in the long run.

I'm running 85mm on stock sleeves. I take it to 8-8.5K rpm.

The most that I would ever sleeve a stock b20 block is to 85mm. Not 86mm I would never go 2mm over stock bore. But if you want to be safe and not risk anything I would just get it resleeved then slap in some 86mm slugs. just me thoughts

i've got a ton of b20's running 85's..no problems..but beware..regardless or bore size. b20's have WEAKER SLEEVES than the other b series. the sleeves were casted differently and they split after a while, especially with the increased compression people put in them and the increased rpm. if you can afford it...get a ls block with a cracked sleeve, and get ductile iron sleeves installed, then go 85mm. you will never blow those up. http://www.rsmachines.com . 310-328-5514
