Car Stalls out when i turn on AC
the normal air cool or heat works fine. but i need a/c in order to defog my windows better. when i push the a/c on the car just stalls and dies out. only when the ac is on.
do i need to recharge it or something? or electrical problem? where should i start looking?
i've already checked the fuses.

A locked or seized AC compressor will not stall a vehicle rather it will break the belt or shred it.

It sound to me that you have an electrical problem. You stated that the compressor wheel spin freely. So, does your raises when you turn on the AC? or does it just idles low and stalls?
Its either that the PCM is not getting the singal that the AC turn on or the PCM is responding. Anyways, the PCM is suppose to raise the idle when the AC is turn on.

it idles fine with the air on. but it just stalls out as soon as i turn on the a/c.
whats PCM stand for? where do i check for continiuty ?
soo the pcm is suppose to keep the engine running enough to idle and run the a/c compressor load?

Yes they can if it's just idleing when you turn it on.

Well one test you can do to see if your compressor is seize. You can activate the compressor clutch and see if your can turn it by hand.

Sounds like you have a problem with your A/C SYSTEM!
I had the same problem..
the AC pump would making way too much pressure..
things to look for..
clogged lines, bad pump, clogged condensor,
or take the belt off, and keep the AC off until you have it looked at by a qualified AC technician.
You have to be carefull with AC due to laws.. and
danger to yourself..
AC systems make a lot pressure....especially when they are malfunctioning like yours.. I am willing to be that the "Hi Side" is making in excess of 600psi and I bet the low side is making way too much pressure too

if you got aftermarket cams and the car is not tuned it'll die on you cause your car is not able to keep its rpm stable to supply the power needed for the AC/belt/compressor etc etc
soo im looking at the whole a/c system. can i cross off the electrical as a problem?
i will check if its the pulley, the compressor, or the over pressured system?
