Default help with 99 Si rear discs in 98 hatch

what's up guys? new to the boards. need you all's expertise(sp?)

i just put 99 Si rear disc brakes on my 98 civic hatch, but i think something went wrong. i used my stock LCA'S from my hatch and it looks like i now have positive camber wear (i used to have a bit of negative camber wear). could this be due to me using my stock lca's? i have a pair of Si LCA's. should i switch them out? also, the braking seems to have gotten worse. it takes a lot more brake travel to slow down the car. we bled the front and rear brakes and also used an Si proportioning valve (so i was told). is there any way to confirm whether or not my proportioning valve is the same as an Si?

sorry for all the questions...any help would be appreciated. i was planning on switching out my stock LCA's for the Si LCA's just in case, then getting an alignment.

Did you put in a larger master cylinder as well? I used my stock LCAs when I did mine. Get an alignment also.

welcome...
welll you might also need to get the master cylinder/booster from the Si too..
on th eproportional valve on the very top ther should be a stamped # like 30/40 or 40/40..either one are made for rear disc brake car...
also did you swapped out the whole trailing arm? if you did then that will totally changes you alignment...normally jsut the TOE IN/OUT but if you also did took out the upper control arm then that changes you CAMBER...
hope this help....also correct me if i'm wrong somewhere..

i didn't use the master cylinder from an Si.

I swapped out the whole trailing arm, so i'm guessing that's what is effecting my TOE. i'm going to just get an alignment and an Si master cylinder.

thanks for the help.

The prop valve on 96-00 are all the same part number between Si, DX,CX, and possibly othe models so this is probably not your problem. You woud definately benefit from a larger master cylinder setup, I got mine from a 98 ITR and it works great. Be sure that you got all of the air out of the lines because that will definately cause a low pedal.

doing this conversion was a pain! we didn't bleed the brakes right the first time, which cause the awful pedal pressure. fixed that. i still had positive camber, which really bothered me, so i took out the discs and put my drums back in. i'm gonna get a camber kit and replace my hub bearings then throw the discs back on.

the most difficult part was taking out the e-brake cables and putting them back. i don't have a car lift to my disposal, so i had to use my jack that came with the car. it took me about 5 hours of straight work to get everything back to normal.
