Default Black sensor on FPR on H22

I found people talking about this black sensor on JDM H22. Its between the valve cover and FPR with two wires goin to it. What is the Honda name for it or abbreviation. thanks

Also what the heck is it for?

I beleive it adjusts the pressure for the stock ecu is if needs more or less fuel...

I have one on my JDM h22 and I think I'm going to remove it as I now run an AEM EMS and I think it will mess with my maps or no funtion at all anymore...

I believe that is for the bypass butterflies in the resonator (in the bumper). USDM 'ludes have this mounted down near the battery. I removed mine and had no side effects, just make sure you cap off the vacuum nipple that feeds it.

Yeah you guys nailed it...

After searching a bit, I found it is for controlling the butterflies in the intake resonator<not IAB's> found in the stock intake air-box. This is basically useless if you have an aftermarket intake or turbo/SC. Just run the vacume line from the fpr to the intake Manifold where the other hose used to run and your all set...

Mine will be removed tommorow..

hahahhaa...i'm sorry but the IAB does control the secondary butterfly in the intake manifold...jdm it's right under than intake manifold...black box with two vacuum lines and 1 harness plug with 2 wires...if you remove this...you will lose low end...cuz your secondary runner wil stay open...eventhough it design to close on low end and open your butterfly on your high end...

I dont think your on the same page... What they are talking aboot is, the black solenoid looking thing that came on the JDM engines, a vacuum line runs from the intake plenum to the solenoid, and from the solenoid to the FPR.. It has nothing to do with the controlling of the secondary butterflys.

I was told along time ago, that it was for raiseing the Fuel Pressure on cold starts, somekind of Emmision Control Device used in Japan. They do have stricter Emmisions for autos overthere, then in the U.S ..But controlling the butterflies in the intake resonator sounds good to me(makes more sense)

I do not have mine hooked-up, fuel pressure is fine(idle/WOT) You really dont need it, its basically useless. Just run the vacuum line from the plenum to the FPR and your good to go

Raising up the dead!

What about the wires? There is actually a clip that plugs into the solenoid. I could easily relocate the vacuum line directly from the fpr to the manifold, but then how do you remove the soleniod with the wires and clip? Here is a pic, just to verify I am on the same page. Will removing the wires throw a code, seems like it would?

Just route the vacume line from the regulator straight to the manifold...

Unplug the solinoid stuff the clip down out of the way and remove the solinoid.

I had the sensor on my JDM h22a. I just took it off and routed the vaccum straight from the FPR to the intake manifold. it didn't throw a code for me.

I did the same thing, but i used my old wiring harness to make sure it didn't throw a code for it
