RacerX aka David or any other WRX knowledgable person.
Can you give me a list of exhausts that are readily available for this car...possibly of 5Zigen has one.
also can you recommend an upgraded suspension for it? Sti from factory? Tein?
also a good blow off valve and turbo timer.
Also, whats a good mileage to reach for break in?
TIA

It depends on what kind of exhaust youre looking for. Want loud? Go Stromung or ScoobySport. Cobb Tuning makes a quiet model, and Im sure the STi isnt too obnoxious. Any turboback exhaust is going to give good gains due to the removal of the uppipe cat.
Id go with STi suspension personally...I dont see any reason performance-wise to go with anything else.
For a TT, you used to have to modify the wiring due to the stock alarm/keyless entry, but HKS just recently released a harness, Im not sure if its out yet though. HKS is nice, so is Apexi & Blitz. No biggie.
BOV - Blitz is nice, but its loud. If you want the attn, go with Blitz
I think Cobbs is the quietest. TurboXS, etc...they all pretty much do the same deal.
As for mileage...I dont know if its any diff than our cars, but Id say follow the schedule, maybe even a bit stricter. As the mileage goes up, increase the revs a bit. Maybe 1200-1500 miles, start treatin her right! Correct me if Im wrong...it could be a different ballgame. Ive never owned a Sube.

cheapest and best route
3" custom from the turbo back
manual bleed valve approx $70 AUS to raise boost
BOV, alot of guys in oz use turbsmart approx $250 AUS for a huge one, hehe
thats about it

Well a friend of mine has the Graham Goode Exhuast, sounds great and makes good power upgrade.
I would save the money on the TT(dont need it IMO)and go for a Boost controller--He has an EVC IV--great upgrade
As for suspension--DMS is probably one of the best--check out this months SCC and they back it up by having the quickest time through the slolam(sp)--Tein and STi also are good alternitives also
As for the BOV, everyone who I know who has used one has removed it--It gets very annoying after a while and my friend Pete's was not working Properly and he was losing boost pressure--
My suggestion is check the i-club: http://www.i-club.com
If you look under the factory forced induction forum, my friend has posted hi set up and what he ran last night at the track--his screen name is IMPREZIV.
Good luck

Goode, Janesports, RSR, FGK, STi, Prodrive, 5Zigen, HKS, Blitz, Liberal, scooby sports, Monstersports,Blimp, ARC, Apexi, syms, Prova, wangan, zerosports...and alot of others I can't think of.
You can TT a scooby but it would require alot research and custom work. At last yrs auto salon STi had tt WRX making 500+hp.
As for mileage i wouldn't ungrade until you have atleast 1,500 miles on the car to 2,000 miles to completely break in the engine.

heres a reference for you,
Nurspec Exhaust 80mm...13hp gained on tested wrx on superstreet
LM Series Air Cleaner Kit (Blitz Filter) gained 11hp

As for intake I have the Injen but may switch to the Blitz SUS. Exhaust wise, Kakimoto has two different ones available, both 80mm. I am using the quieter R setup. Full stainless cat back. Downpipe sold seperately. As for boost control I use the Blitz SBC-ID. It is the best electronic controller on the market although the HKS is also good. I broke my car in gently for 2000 miles before switching to synthetic and hammering on it.
As for suspension, Tein RA is THE setup to have but VERY expensive. JIC is working on releasing the US spec suspensions and Zeal is also. STi is very basic suspension and not recommended for any track use. As for BOV I also am using the Blitz and have no turbo timer at all. Blitz and HKS are the only timers available at the moment with harnesses.

I m using Kakimoto GT1.OZ exhaust, Custom stainless steal downpipe, no cat at all, Blitz LM intake kit, Blitz bov, Apexi turbo timer (with air/fuel, o2 and batt meter function. Also will automatically adjust ur timer), Apexi avc-r, Apexi s-afc and Sard fuel presure regulator.
Doing the Up-pipe later same as the header, big turbo and intercooler too.
As for suspension, i m planning to get the DMS 50 with 9k front and 8k rear spring. I would say DMS is one of the best.

Shane,
I've seen the Garage Aqua down pipe nice looking piece. I should be getting a kakimoto catolog in my next shippment well whenever they allow planes to come back into the US again.

Yes but that is not an equal length manifold. The Maxim Works is true equal length and is used by the WRC car. It is beautiful (I've seen the GC-8 version) but not quite ready yet for the new WRX. They said sometime in October. I'll be using that one if I keep the car.
