What class?
I have recently started autocrossing and my local members placed my car in STS but I think I should actually be in CSP. I drive an 02 RSX-S with full coilovers, rear sway, 17's, S-afc, intake and exhaust. I'm new so bear with me I just want to make sure I'm not pissin anybody off by being in the wrong class. Also in addition what are the main differences between the the 2 classes. Anything is appreciated. If there is a site you can direct me to that would be good also.

What width are your 17s? If they're 7.5 and under, then you're legal for STS. I'm assuming you're not running R-compounds either. Judging from your mods, I would have classed your car in STS as well. You would fare better there than CSP, being on street tires. PAX in STS is softer as well.
SP classes allow R-compounds, LSD, among various other mods not permitted in STS.
Check out http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/ for classing, rules, etc.

My wheels are 7.5 so I guess thats not the problem. I tried to research as much as possible before I weant but when I was there a guy seemed kinda mad that I was in STS. He said my tires were to big which I run Azeanis sport 225/45 the only size they make that will fit. Then he said he didn't think my fuel computer was legal and that only autocrossers buy Azeanis and it weant on from there. Being in that situation was kinda intimidating. I know my car and I work on my car but I just can't rebut anything about the class I'm in because I'm the new guy. I was pretty sure I was supposed to be in STS but again it was only my second time so I wasn't 100%.

it's good that you're being conscientious to your fellow a-x'ers.
but that guy is wrong. pretty sure a VAFC is legal in STS, and the 225's definitely are. I'm not sure why he's getting mad that you have azenis at an autocross, if only autocrossers buy azenis, maybe i'm missing something.
STS is def your class, the SP classes start to get a little crazy.

Yeah, I took a glance at the rule book last night, and it specifically says that electronic fuel controllers (S-AFC in your case) are permitted. 245s are the limit for STS, so you're good there.
No worries.
No worries.
the "class leader" here in STS runs Azenis on his 90 Civic. Also, having this being your 2nd time, you should see if your local group has an STN class like we do here. The first "series" you run you get to be in STN, which is the Novice class. Car, mods, etc do not matter, it's just for the people starting out.
BTW> ours are broken into two series, 8 meets in the "spring" series, and 5 or 6 in the fall series. Only thing is points reset between the two.

These are the ECu related rules for STS:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by SCCA rulebook »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
The engine management system parameters and operations may be modified only by the methods listed below. Any and all modifications must meet or exceed the applicable US DOT emissions standards for the year, make, and model of the car. These allowances also apply to forced induction cars, except that no changes to standard boost levels, intercoolers, or boost controls are permitted.
Reprogrammed ECU may be used in the standard housing. Traction control parameters may not be altered.
Electronic components may be installed inline between an engine's sensors and ECU. These components may alter the signal coming from the sensor in order to affect the ECU's operation of the engine management system. Example: fuel controllers that modify the signal coming from an airflow sensor.
Fuel pressure regulators may be replaced in lieu of electronic alterations to the fuel system. It is not permitted to electronically modify the fuel system AND replace a fuel presure regulator.
Ignition timing may be set at any point on factory adjustable distributor ignition systems.
VTEC controllers and other devices may be used which alter the timing of factory standard electronic variable valve timing systems.
The mass airflow sensor must remain in its approximate original location.

Looks like the V-AFC is legal as long as you do not also have a mechanical FPR.

Better read your Fastracks, that rule was ammended right after it got screwed up in the rule book.
225 on a 7.5" wheel for STS.
