Offsets?
please don't. seriously, you have no idea how seriously this upsets the balance of the car for the slight convenience you have to rotate the tires. there are many threads about this on s2ki.com, search and you'll see more evidence. and if you do end up going the same size all around, I sincerely hope that you only drive the car as aggressive as you would a honda insight, which is not at all.
The handling is going to be compromised anyway once the sway bars and coilovers go on.
I just want to know if the wheel will fit. Thanks for the concern though.
Edit: I haven't bought the car yet, just doing some research and planning for when it does arrive in my garage.

might I ask.... why you are putting on coilovers and swaybars onto the car? even running the car stock around the track will be incredibly faster than someone with coilovers and swaybars if you are not familiar with this car. heck, I feel that's a waste, but that's just my opinion since I'm running a stock up front and nothing in the back.
when you realize just how fast people are in stock s2000's it makes you wonder why you are throwing money at it. you'll be doing these modifications to it, will hopefully get it properly corner balanced & aligned right, yet, none of that will matter when you decrease the handling of the car by putting on non-staggered wheels. the tires are *everything* to this car and any car.

You know, I was going to explain my reasoning here. Then I realized I don't have to. If you're satisfied with the stock set up that's fine. There's always more to be had. Having more grip in the front is not a bad thing if you can sort the suspension to your liking using adjustable coilovers and swaybars which I plan to do. But, I'll have to see the car will probably be driven stock for a while so I'll make final decisions as I see fit to get the car where I want it. Untill then can someone answer my question instead of lecturing me on messing up the balance of the car stock when I plan to mod the hell out of it anyway? I suppose you'll have a problem with the direct port nitrous too?
...and the lecture continues...
nothing will matter what you do to the car's suspension when you sacrifice everything by cheaping out on tires & wheels.
I prefer cars that turn, but with nitrous & some fast and furious action, I'm quite sure you plan on living a quarter mile at a time.

*Sigh* A Fast and Furious reference, I'm hurt. I prefer cars than turn and can walk on a WS6, the bottle is easily removed. Since you're so dead set against me running 245/40-17's all around tell me Mr. Bagel, what exactly can I screw up that can't be fixed with a bigger front sway and/or adjustable coilovers? Or are you just assuming that I'd bolt on multi adjustable coilovers as the came out of the box without screwing around with all the pretty *****? And how exactly is paying more for a wider wheel up front for more contact patch "cheaping out"? I still don't have a straight answer for my original post...
As you can learn from the Amuse car you can successfully run matched wheel widths and be succeful with it. However, inorder to really benefit from this you will need to run some very aggressive front offsets that will make tweaking your front suspension a nightmare. Simply getting my BBS wheels to run clean on the front was tricky I cringe to think what the guys at Amuse went through to get their CE28's to run clean up front.
Some people have tried to run the Amuse offsets and sizes if your interested head over to s2ki.com and ask around there are a few guys who should know the Amuse specs.

Running 17x8 all around is ok, just be careful on a hard turn or you'll fishtail. I used to run a set of LE37T 17x7.5 +48 offset with 215/45/17 tires. I'm lowered over 2inches, but it didnt even rub. However, I recommend that you take everyone's advice and stick to a staggered setup.
