how much whp are the standard drag3 intercoolers capable above before they start to lose efficiency. i know outside temps play a big role so lets just say 60-70 degrees outside

 

They are good to 300-340hp

 

Bump. I'm curious if anyone has "real world" numbers.

A local friend made 342whp with his Drag III intercooler but I think the most I have seen is 375whp and I am not even sure if he still had the Drag III intercooler.

thats what i like to hear

 

mine is the same size as a drag3 and i made 400whp on it so far and trying for 500whp on it , but i do have a intercooler sparyer

 

I used this intercooler for the whole season of racing. The intercooler worked great and the car was making 355WHP.

 

My old spearco/drag intercooler was a 22x6.5x2.25 core and put out 330whp. Usually in the upper 300's they start to lose efficiency.

A good rule of thumb is you want at least a 24x8x3 core when looking at 400-500ish whp.

 

mine could be bigger then a drag mines
26x7.5x2.75 its a spearco core i just always thought it looked like a drag intercooler

 

Drag uses spearco's for their kits.

 

Tyler made 400.2whp on his turbo LS with a DRAG FMIC and DRAG piping. it's maxed out, efficiency-wise.
