B16B in a 98 4dr whats your opinion/installation cost/price/getting ride of old engine?
I really want a CTR engine in my 4dr. What are some of the pros and cons of that swap? The shop told me 1000 to install it. That was with the complete install, a clutch change, water pump, and timing belt labor; not including parts. I found a CTR engine for around 3000-3500. I would like to also turbo this setup in a year or two. I also need to get ride of my d16y8. It has 110xxx miles with a new timing belt, water pump, belts, vavlve adjustment, plugs, wires, dist. cap and rotor, aem short ram, and a dc 4-1 header. What do you think i could get for it? Or should i part it out?
i dunno over there, but its an *** to pass smog over here in california with a jdm motor.
y wont u pay a bit more for a USDM ITR?
i say the CTR motor is god, but i rather go with the 1.8L
but thats IMO

Same here. I hear you can use a GSR/Type R crank and rods to stroke it to a 1.8. I would recommend doing the swap yourself, it would save tons of money.
