should I gte a 4-1 JDM header?
My mods are listed below. AFter installing ITR cams last sunday, I feel like my Comptech 4-2-1 headers maybe a lil restrictive at the top end. Should I get a 4-1 header with a bigger collector? I have the DC JDM and the ITR JDM in mind, What sucks is that I would also need a different cat.
carsound cat for GSR w/ JDM 4-1 headers is like $75
i would recommend getting that header w/ bigger outlet

Go to IPS racing for the ca(2.5") and get the JDM headers, the DC JDM headers collector diameter is less than 2"!
the DC JDM header outlet is 2.5"...if practically the same header as the JDM 4-1
i agree with 01GSR, the JDM ITR 4-1 and DC JDM 4-1 are both 2.5". actually, the DC is a "true" 2.5" since the JDM ITR 4-1 is double layered at the collector, while the DC is single layered.
hth.
P.S.
if u only have the basic bolt-ons, u'll only see minimal gains. the 4-1 header with a 2.5" collector shines when comboed with high compression pistons, aggressive cams, honed and/or port and polished manifold, built cylinder head for maximum air flow, etc.

If you're not too low and have to worry about denting the header, then get a 2.5" collector one. The JDM ITR would be better as it's full stainless, which may or may not matter much in your area (DC stainless headers don't use stainless flanges). You should get a new cat-back also unless the comptech exhaust is 2.5" also, which I don 't think it is. If you get a 2.5" header and cat that go into a long run of smaller piping, then you're creating a bottleneck in your exhaust stream.
oh, and don't forget that it also may be your throttle body and intake mani that's choking the top end. You could bore your stock t/b out to 64mm and get a skunk2 IM to help with top-end flow.
