b16 obd wiring question.

Default b16 obd wiring question.

hi, i am trying to help my friend out a bit. he has a b16 engine it is a first gen engine i am not sure if it is obd0 or 1. he has 97 civic dx, what will we need to do to get this to run as far as wiring is concerned. what ecu will we need, if we need a new distributor what one should we get

the 1st gen b16 is probably obd0 and your car is wired for obd2 you will need to keep the distributor for your engine obd0 and use the computer for the 1st gen. you will either have a blast doing the wiring or attempt to find a harness for obd2 to obd0

best thing to do. Use the existing 96 engine harness on the first gen b16. get a obd2-1 jumper using a p28. get obd1-2 distributor. use the 96 injectors.
