how to reduce vibration in h22 EG?
alright my 93 cx shakes alot when driving. i mean the interior of my car likes to vibrate when accelerating around the 1000 rpm - 1600 rpm range. my whole dash likes to shake and my coins in the ash tray likes to have a jumpin party, also my rear bottom hatch rings a nasty humm whenever it wants, something inside the door panels on both sides ring a tune here and there, to match with the glove box who provides a bassy rattle(too much junk in there?). thats just the interior. for the exterior my driver fender and turn signal rattles a bit and so does the hood. all this rattling, im basically in a moving message car or a funky beat box if you can.
anyone else feel my pain? as much as i love the power, the vibration just makes drivng a lil less fun for regular commute. does anyone have any ideas to reduce the amount of vibration in my car? ive been thinkin of getting some front and rear strut bars, hoping that stiffening the top part of the ride will absorb some vibration, think this will work? please add some ideas.

i am currently using a hcp mount setup sitting on some skunk2 springs that are raised to the highest. for the axles, i got the 90-93 intermediate shaft w/ 90 integra axels. so basically its like the common setup for h22eg.

I like to know what is the right sequence from future reference. Thanks

Usually you would tighten the rear mount first, the the 2 side mounts. Try shorter axles... 89 Integra axles w/Prelude inner joints. The Prelude inner joints have deeper cups to allow for more play, thus less chance of binding, thus less vibration. If that doesn't work, make sure the motor itself (or rear tranny bracket) isn't touching any part of the chassis or that'll make the whole car vibrate.

is ur interior gutted? there is a noticeable difference in noise between full interior and hollow coke can....
and also the strut bars will help get rid of the chassis/cracking sound... i had this sound when backing in and out of driveways..

When you did your swap did you hook your balance shafts back up? Kind of an obvious question I know but lately i've been hearing of people removing them and pluging them up. Maybe the previous owner of the engine took them out and did not tell you...just shooting in the dark here. But yeah I would check your mounts too. Goodluck

hey man I ride in poison's car all the time and it's the same way. Get a lot of excess noises, the dash shakes, whole car rattles when idling also. well if you want to stop the shaking get some dynomat and spray all the area's that are making noises but there's a downfall...................MORE WEIGHT!!!
Before he removed his balance shafts I didn't have much vibration but I did notice a HUGE difference as far as vibrations on my feet when he first did it. Just get used to it that's all I have to say

well, my motor is a usdm 97 h22a4 motor. yes my interior is gutted =P, thats what my friend told me too, to put some interior back in and gain some weight on the rid to absorb some of the vibration. as for the sequence of installing the mounts, i did the passenger side and driver side first, then moved on to the rear. i did it that way because i thought it was the easiest way, the rear mount was not easy to do, i have to bang the tranny mount into place with the chassis mount. so im thinkin now that theres too much of a tight fit which created the excess vibration.
